Atelier Krouwel alias Nick Krouwel is an architect and furniture designer based in Amsterdam. His work focusses on sustainable solutions for the built environment while seeking for a synergy between functionality and design. These ‘design and build’ solutions are materialized into small to large scale projects by combining digital design and rapid production processes. He has professional and academic experience at TU Delft, MIT Boston and ETH Zürich. In 2017 he graduated Cum Laude for his Master of Science in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences at TU Delft. In 2018 he founded the architectural studio Atelier Krouwel B.V.

I am caught by a vision where our knowledge and technology does not limit us but rather enables us to turn surreal dreams into inhabitable sustainable space, to turn fiction into fact. With technology accelerating our future and architecture being the canvas of the world we are living in, the discipline has the greatest potential to be evolved more than ever to make this happen. Through the appliance of advanced digital design and fabrication techniques to making, should allow us to solve our rising demands and a sustainable future.
